The Board of Northside Radio, together with our fabulous volunteers, coordinators, and listeners alike are delighted to announce the arrival of our new aerial. It is now operational!

It will boost our reception and more importantly the opportunities to connect with the community and bring it great programming.

It is a long sought opportunity to thank our supporters for their faith and unshakeable confidence. It is a long term priority for the board.

There are obstacles along the way. Some are now historical footnotes because our intent is to focus on connecting with our local community and providing more opportunities for participation, support for emerging artists, broadcast opportunities and unique content.

Thanks are due to many people contributing in different ways from engineering, board members, supporters, coordinators, and  stakeholders, we deal with and in many other ways.

It is tempting to name a few people. That’s not possible here and unfair to many who participated over a long period.

But it would be remiss not to acknowledge critical support from Willoughby Council. We will show that its faith and confidence in our capacity to serve our community was well placed.  We use the opportunity to serve the community even better.

I am delighted the first supportive congratulations I received was from Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney with unquestioned support of fellow councillors over time underpinned by a highly effective Council team.

Let’s also pause and acknowledge critical early support from former Mayor, the late Pat Reilly, himself a former presenter and contributor at Northside Radio.

This is a great milestone.  But it is no resting point. Our focus now is to honour those who helped and those who intend to do so by leveraging a major and successful project to connect with our local community even more.

It could not have been done without you.

Thanks for listening
