OzHarvest Market, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm at Waterloo. You can collect food for free, saving surplus food from going to landfill. Their yellow vans collect food from cafes, delies, airlines, restaurants and other food businesses. It is then distributed to the many charities that feed people in need. Visit OzHarvest.org to find out if they visit your area, learn about food waste, volunteering, donate food or give money. OzHarvest are at 95 Wellington Street Waterloo.

The St Ives Farmers Market is on every Saturday from 8.00am to 2:00pm at St Ives Showground – a family-friendly location. Turramurra Fresh Produce & Gourmet Market, Karuah Park Turramurra, is the place for quality fresh, organic & gourmet products. The markets are open on Wednesdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm with friendly stall holders.

Toss it? No way!! We want to fix it. That’s the motto of the Repair Café. They repair jewellery, shoes, toys, clothes, zips, bags & many other items. Located under cover, on the second floor of the council car park, in Wade Lane between Gordon railway station and the shops on Pacific Highway, the markets have a wide variety of stalls. Have you ever wondered what happens to the plants when houses are demolished, and sites are cleared for re-development? Typically, they are just thrown away and end up as green waste. But now there is a not-for-profit organisation, called Plant Rescue Ku-ring-gai, who visit development sites before the bulldozers move in, assess the site to save as much as they can and then nurture and re-home the plants into local schools, homes and public spaces. Every Wednesday, Mosman Farmers Market, offers the highest quality of fresh, organic and gourmet produce alongside Georges Heights Oval at Suakin Drive, Mosman from 8:00am to 2:00pm. And best of all, they’re dog friendly. Along with organic and conventional fresh produce stalls, you can find fashion, artisan crafts, and fresh flowers, all sorts of delicious food like Gozleme, yum cha, Indian, cakes and bread, and of course, hot coffee. The Northside Produce Markets are held on the first & third Saturday of the month, rain or shine, from 8am to 12 noon inside Civic Park at 220 Miller Street, North Sydney. The market offers a wonderful variety of seasonal fruit and vegetables, exceptional artisan foods, breakfast, lunch and great coffee, where dogs on a leash are welcome. There’s free customer parking in the Ridge Street car park so why not browse the Northside Produce Market with its great vibe, great food and great produce.

The Crows Nest Markets are held on the third Saturday of each month from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at the Crows Nest Community Centre, 2 Ernest Place – just a 10 minute walk from St Leonards station. The Market has up to 50 stalls including arts, crafts, giftware, toys, jewellery, homewares, jams and condiments and much more, plus while there, enjoy a relaxing lunch, coffee or gelato! Organised by the Rotary Club of North Sydney.

The Kirribilli General Markets are held on the first Sunday of each month from 8:30am to 3:00pm at the Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre, 16-18 Fitzroy Street, Kirribilli. Amongst over 220 stalls you find new and recycled fashion, antiques, arts and craft, homewares, jewellery, plants, gourmet foods and a whole lot more! With easy access to public transport, stroll through the bustling market and enjoy live entertainment, fabulous food and the gorgeous harbour views.

Held on the 3rd Sunday of each month, the Lane Cove Makers Market has a range of unusual hand-crafted products made by Artists and Designers not found anywhere else. Held in The Canopy and the Lane Cove Plaza, at 16 Burns Bay Road, you’ll find items from Artists, Jewellery, Ceramics, Kids Clothes, Plants, Jams, Puddings and there’s always a buzz and cool vibe, with the fantastic musical buskers.
