GG’s Country & Western with Georgie Cadwallader with Georgie Cadwallader

Georgie’s love of country music came early in a life filled with riding and horses. She recalls it being the soundtrack of Gymkhanas and other equestrian events.

At the age of 30 she started in radio, first in Queensland on Gympie’s 4GY, and for the last 30 years has been on and off at Northside Radio, Sydney. She’s also a reader on 2RPH, Sydney’s radio and print handicapped station.

Outside of radio, she keeps busy with horse rides raising funds for MS from Taree to Port Macquarie, endurance rides where she works as a strap, and the Kidney Kar Rally.


Leah Veritay

Saturdays | 8am – 10:30am

Leah Veritay joined Northside Radio back in 2013. After discovering a passion for radio whilst studying at Tafe, Leah realised she had to join her local community station as soon as possible. Originally presenting Saturday Sunrise from 6AM, no wake up call could throw this presenter. Leah’s love for music, film and theatre is infectious so it’s no wonder hosting Saturn’s Day Off is great fun! Email

John Regan 

Thursdays | 9am – 12pm

A ten quid tourist of long standing, John worked in medical electronics and then information technology until retiring some while back.Casting around for something to do in retirement he did a radio training course and presented programs for a couple of years at a rival station. He joined Northside in May 2015 as a producer and then, in April 2016 started presenting his own show, “A song for everyone” airing on Thursday mornings. John’s program is an eclectic mix of singer/songwriters with a healthy dose of up and coming Aussie talent. John Buchanan II


John show is The JB Shuffle, a two hours of jazz and blues based music. The music played covers anything and everything in jazz and blues from probably World War II right up to today. I like to play a mix of classics, oddities and obscurities. Among the people I have found and played are Curtis Peagler, and Rufus Harley among the jazz content, singers Sophie Millman, Cynthia McCorkindale  (aka Cyntia M) and more recently Hope Waits and the lesser known blues men Gary Allegretto and Joe Beard.

Peter Brichta 

Tuesdays | 12pm – 2pm

Peter has been professionally involved in film and television for more than thirty years as a film editor, producer, writer and director starting his career with the ABC in the late 1970’s. He has worked on a variety of television programs (“Four Corners”, “Beyond 2000”, “The Great Outdoors” and“Grand Designs Australia” to name a few) as well as documentaries and commercials. In this time he also ran a small CD shop on the North Shore. It wasn’t a great business success, he says, but sure gave him one hell of a CD collection for his show “Pete’s Beats“. Email

April Pressler

Saturdays 4pm – 6pm

April Pressler is a radio presenter, screen and theatre actor, voice over artist, media and business consultant, former diplomat and singer. She presents The Pressler Project on Northside Radio every Saturday afternoon, bringing listeners a range of latest contemporary music that includes electronica/indie/chill/indigenous and more. She focuses on presenting listeners with a fresh program of latest music in her favourite genres every week and includes selected interviews from time to time. April also presents regular programs on Radio 2RPH in Glebe, works with a print-on-demand publisher and with foreign media.


Graham Steele 

Tuesdays | 2pm – 4pm

Graham Steele, co-host of The Gentlemen’s Club, was born a long time ago in England, and came to the Antipodes in the 1970s. Chemist by profession, then marketer, and now a company director, Graham loves rugby, sailing and good food and wine. Email

Lisa Eismen

Lisa Eismen is a filmmaker, writer and musician that originally hails from Chicago. Her music videos, short films and documentaries have been screened in many festivals. Her theatre direction has seen her through to Awards Finalist many years over. Her latest achievement is her feature length documentary called Women In Blues,which is currently in post-production and she’d like to have it finished by February 2016. Graeme Lyndon

Following more than 60 years in mainstream radio and television, Graeme Lyndon finds a refreshing family of friends, both listeners and colleagues, in hosting his jazz show Milestones in Music on Northside Radio FM 99.3. Graeme chooses every track carefully for its melody line, and happily places a comedy spot to brighten up the show.  Email

Geoff Stanwell 

Wednesdays | 4pm – 7pm

Geoff has been involved in community radio since 2005 and with Northside Broadcasting since 2007. He feels passionately about the station and is immediate-past chairman of the Board. He is a civil celebrant, master of ceremonies and DJ, and is very involved with RSL sub-branch work. Geoff has been presenting Geoff’s Generation on Wednesday Drive since January 2010 and loves interviewing local actors, musicians, performers and politicians. Geoff is an ideal presenter for drive time as he knows most roads in NSW after having traveled everywhere for more than 30 years. Email

Harry Ledowsky 

Tuesdays | 9am – 12pm

Harry has spent over 30 years in advertising and the media. Creator of ‘Oils ain’t Oils’ for Castrol, ‘The Bundy Bear’ for Bundaberg Rum, ‘The Great Ossie Cossie’ for Speedo and ‘Moove’ flavoured milk for the Diary Promotion Council, he was named ‘the second most outstanding individual in advertising’  by the Australian Financial Review and nominated to the Australian Advertising Hall of Fame. Harry has been National Creative Director of Young & Rubicam, the head of the Worldwide Creative Directors and a board member in New York. He has been chairman of the Golden Stylus Awards four times and a judge on seven occasions. He was also the managing director of 2GB and creator of ‘Greatest Memories Latest Hits’ for 2WS. Harry is an internationally published author with Lethal Metal and has had his second book bought by Pan Macmillan released in 2014. At FM 99.3 for 8our years, he hosts Mornings with Harry, a mix of current affairs, interviews and music. Ron Atkins

Being a Baby Boomer, Ron loves 50s and 60s music and the radio times from that era, especially the early rock and roll from the artists who formed the core of the great music and jukebox hits from 1955 to 1965. Ron presents the Golden Oldies music program on Thursdays from noon to 4 pm, in which listeners’ rock and roll requests are a backbone of the program format. He also joins Jane Arakawa every Friday morning 6–9 am for their Brekky Club program – fun, trivia, prizes and great brekky music and requests. Jane Arakawa is producer and host of Thursday’s Long Way Home and co-presenter of the Pop Heads Hour of Power with musicologist Roddy Lee that broadcasts from the Vault of Vinyl every Thursday between 5 – 6PM.  The Hour of Power is heard around Australia on the Community Radio Network.


 In 2013 2NSB was selected as a finalist in the Excellence in Training category of the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia’s CBAA Awards – fantastic recognition of the team’s efforts.
Jane was selected as a National Features and Documentary Series Finalist in 2015 for Australia’s Radio Pioneer – Charles Maclurcan


Guy Brookes

Thursdays | 7pm – 9pm

Part of the Northside Radio team for 16 years, Guy has a real passion for blues’n’roots music, especially live performance. He has produced and presented blues and roots themed radio programs throughout this period. Guy has hosted ‘Red House Blues’ (2003–04), ‘Blues Train’ (2004–06), ‘Higher Ground’ (2011), ‘Singers and Songwriters’ (2011–12), and now ‘Blues Radio’. Guy is also the editor of featuring Australia’s latest blues and roots photo galleries, links, artist reviews and the latest touring information. He was a judge at the Sydney Blues Society’s 2005 Blues Performer of the Year. Frank Presley

In 2014 Frank Presley’s Now’s the Time celebrates 23 years on Australian public radio and 12 years broadcasting from the North Shore’s FM 99.3. Frank keeps listeners up to date with where to find Sydney’s best live jazz, international jazz news, in-depth interviews with a variety of guests and thousands of dollars worth of giveaways. Frank’s album reviews appear regularly on Jazz and Beyond along with all his radio interviews available for listening and podcast. Frank is the editor of Australia’s jazz magazine Jazz and Beyond and has won a National Jazz Writing Competition award at the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz. Email

Barry Mack

Hi, I am Barry Mack, after almost a year off air for a self-imposed break, it’s lovely to be back again. I have to say live broadcasting is exciting, additive, and really keep me firing on all cylinders. We have music Irish modern and traditional as well as Australian and international flavours. Radio has been a great passion for the past fifteen years and Northside Radio fits so well. The station is friendly and has welcomed my very different show. I believe in upbeat songs and music that lifts the spirits, I endeavour to do persevere with this. We have trivia, on this day, news items, history, poems and information on the artists we play. Every show is different but still lively and informative depending on the day or the date. Humour to me is so important and a giggle or three brings a smile before long. Northside radio has such a diverse and talented bunch of presenters who are real people who  share a common bond to deliver the best show possible and create a nice environment. Email

Penny Pedersen

Fridays | 4pm – 7pm

Penny is a comedienne, actress and radio presenter. She has worked in theatre, film and television in dramas like Home and Away, Young Lions, All Saints, Water Rats, Police Rescue, Little Fish and Floating Life. As a comedienne she has appeared at all the usual haunts and in shows like Beauty and The Beast (Foxtel), The Fat (ABC), Upfront (ABC), The Big Laugh festival, Melbourne Comedy festivals and has worked extensively as a corporate presenter. As a radio presenter she has worked on Triple J breakfast, TGIF ABC 702 and currently hosts the Friday drive show The Long Way Home at FM99.3. Email

David Brown

Saturdays | 11:30am – 12pm

David Brown started his working life as a civil engineer but you would not want him to design a bridge you wanted to safely walk over.  His passion was in traffic engineering and transport planning, which is all about how we use our transport systems, not how we build them.  David soon became involved in commenting on issues through all avenues of the media.  He is now a motoring and transport journalist.  He test drives a new car each week but his ultimate measure of how good a car is relies on his 12-year-old and the Hayden Brown “Will you drive me to school in that car?” factor. Nick Hammond

Born and raised in England, Nick was always interested in music, listening to pirate radio stations as a young lad. His interest peaked with artists on the Motown label in the early 70s, progressing through to the jazz-funk era of the late 70s and early 80s. Nick ran his own mobile disco as a teenager, before becoming the resident DJ at various nightspots. Arriving in Australia in the mid 80s, Nick joined the station in 1990. By day, he’s a customer support manager for a large printing press supplier; by night, he’s a great Dad. The Smooth Jazz Mix is on Saturdays 12 noon til 2 pm. Email

Richard Bell

Richard has been presenting on Northside Radio for a number of years. His current show is called Richard Bell Reports. Richard enjoys presenting a mix of music, interviews with a broad range of guests, reports, and news with a local perspective. His team includes junior reporters, who bring a youth perspective through their Kiderview Team broadcasts. Richard describes his attempts at humour as having ‘mixed success’. Francisco Piñero

Phillip Rosen

Sundays | 7am – 10am

Phillip returns “mikeside” after 28 years away from his first radio encounter at Radio 2SER where he produced and hosted his show, “The 60’s File”.He is thrilled to join the Northside Radio Team and has recently been filling in for various shifts when other presenters are away. His musical influences are the artists and music of the late 60’s and early 70’s.  He enjoys attending vinyl and CD fairs on weekends and is always excited when he finds rare albums/CDs that are not usually heard on commercial radio.  He has an extensive music library and considers himself to be an “audiophile”.  When he is not behind the mike, he enjoys being a fully qualified Martial Arts instructor in Karate at the University of NSW.   He is also a keen long term member of  a sports car club and enjoys weekend drives in the countryside, with the roof down and the wind in his hair.

Neil Cranmer

Neil has been singing in churches either as a choir member or soloist since the age of 10. Like many of his generation, Neil has had several careers including breakfast radio presenter, music coordinator and staff trainer at the first music-focused Christian radio station in the UK, broadcasting across Europe. Neil has written, produced and voiced various campaigns for non-government and other organisations. He has also led training in media journalism/relations. Neil’s passions include aviation, sailing and music. He trained in pianoforte and studied at Forest High School in the first music stream for the HSC. Jane Frost

Jane is a former freelance bookkeeper and Bed and Breakfast owner/host in Naracoorte, South Australia. Jane trained at 5TCBFM in nearby Bordertown and presented an afternoon program for about 5 years before returning to Sydney. In 2004 she joined Northside Broadcasting where she presented In Harmony on Monday evenings until 2008. Ray Shoostovian

Ray has been a Wookie since he could talk. He began his career in radio at the age of 16, worked for 2SM as a radio announcer and producer and has also powered his own very successful disc jockey business. “Been there and done that”, Ray currently freelances as a sales representative and is an expert with advertising and with anything ‘media’. Stephen Sim

Stephen Sim has been a presenter with FM 99.3 for the past 14 years and has also served the station as Chair of its Board of Directors. For many years Stephen presented  ‘An Evening with …’, which was a one-hour program where he interviewed some of Australia’s most famous people as well as ordinary folk with a great story to tell. Stephen currently presents Friday Afternoon, an interesting, easy-listening show, featuring music from the 1950s and 1960s, intermingled with chats with guests. Tony Pang

Tony is also the presenter of Asian Jazz Hour every Sunday night, featuring top contemporary Asian and Australian jazz artists. Through this music program Tony hopes to promote cultural and economic ties between Australia and the fast-growing economies of the Asia region. Tony’s interests include playing in a band; listening to contemporary jazz, soul, R&B and blues; and helping people through community and charity work. Tony is a past president of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Chinese Australian Forum. His current roles include being a commissioner of the Community Relations Commission, Chairperson of the Hornsby/Central Coast Regional Advisory Council and Secretary/Director of welfare group CASS CARE. Jerry Jazz

Merran Regan

Merran Regan has worked as a Marketing and Communications Consultant in the Sydney arts industry for more than 30 years. She ran her own company for 18 of those years specialising in theatre publicity and marketing. She recently moved into the areas of Theatre Casting and Events. Merran is new to radio broadcasting but understands the medium well having accompanied actors, directors, playwrights and creatives to media interviews her whole career. She’s now enjoying presenting an eclectic mix of pop, indie, folk, country, rock and jazz music interspersed with interviews and reviews about Sydney’s performing arts scene, with a focus on local entertainment. John Ogier

Fill-in presenter

John has been involved with Northside Radio since 2003 in a number of volunteer roles as a board member, community liaison officer and breakfast show presenter. After some years overseas he is currently chipping in as fill-in presenter. John is a valuable member of the Northside radio Presenter team, who can slot into any genre of music, with his vast experince in community radio John is able to avail himself to present interesting interviews and has an understanding of what is required in community radio.
