Musica Giovane is an Italian “pop” music program that started in January 1980 on community radio in Sydney. It was then heard across Australia on the Italian radio network “Rete Italia” up to 2016. The show is now back on Northside Radio after a stint in the early nineties. Nick Lavermicocca, a lifelong Willoughby resident, has hosted the show since 1981 and is an Italian music fanatic with an extensive collection of tunes dating all the way back to 1900! As well as classic hits, singer songwriters and Sanremo Festival songs from the last 50 years, the program features “Covers” on the 2nd Sunday and “Festival of Sanremo Hits” on the 4th Sunday of every month.
